He is the Gift

Haven't written in a while so much has happened! Well this month The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has put out a video about Christmas! It is so good that I am going to share it :) there is a url for this as well it is christmas.mormon.org So this month I will be sharing little inspirational things about Christmas! Yay! I love this time of year! Everyone is so much more focused on Christ and it is great because everyday I teach and talk about Christ! so lets #discoverthegift and #embracethegift so that we can all #sharethegift

Utah Ogden Temple

It has been a little while I have been super busy like I said in my last post, since I have been helping out with the Utah Ogden Temple Open House. I love this quote that is shared in the video by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland: "I don’t know how to speak of heaven in the traditional, lovely, paradisiacal beauty that we speak of heaven…I wouldn't know how to speak of heaven without my wife, or my children. It would not be heaven for me. Now, you can say that’s wishful thinking, or you can say, 'That’s just because you love each other and you've gotten cozy here on earth and you like each other’s company.' It’s a lot more than that. There is something eternal in the statement that neither is the man without the woman, nor the woman without the man in the Lord. That isn't just good sociology that is theology, it’s eternal." So some of you may be asking Why do Mormons build Temples ? From the days of the Old Testament, the Lord has commanded His people to ...

Busy month coming :)

Hey sorry it has been a while since I have posted! This next month starting tomorrow I am going to be super busy! It is the best reason to be busy too :) I get to work at the Ogden Temple Open House! Here are some pictures from ldsliving.com NEW INDOOR PICTURES OF REMODELED OGDEN UTAH TEMPLE If you are in the area you should stop on by and see this gorgeous building! The peace and happiness you feel you just can't understand through a picture. Someone told me yesterday that they hope that Heaven looks like the Ogden Temple. It is just simply beautiful. Hope to see you there! For tickets click here !

Choices....its a big decision

Choices they are so hard to make sometimes! I have lots of things that have been going through my mind but I am happy to say that I am choosing to follow Jesus Christ. Eleven We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may. We believe in the freedom to choose. Or in other words the ability and privilege God gives people to choose and to act for themselves. “Agency allows us to be tested and tried to see whether or not we will endure to the end and return to our Heavenly Father with honor. … Agency permits us to make faithful, obedient choices that strengthen us so that we can lift and strengthen others.” —Robert D. Hales I am so glad that we have the ability to choose for ourselves what we want. What will you choose to do with your agency?

A rainy summers day

Hello again :) For the past couple of days where I have been working have been cold and wet here in Utah! Once again weird weather! Tenth We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory. Paradisiacal glory means- a condition like the Garden of Eden Thanks for coming to read my blog! The things that I post are what I know and believe in and I want to help you to come to know these things too contact me on Facebook->  Sister-Vanessa Ingram

Year mark!

I can't believe I have been on my mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints a whole year today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I have been serving the Lord with all I have and will for another 6 months!  But it is sad to see that the time has flown by.  I have met so many amazing people and I have loved them all! I have served in some great areas too!  I want to share what I know to be true: I know that my Redeemer Lives! I know that Christ died for all of my sins because He loves ME! I know that I am a Child of God! I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be THE true church! I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet called of God! I know that the Book of Mormon is true and it contains God's words! I know that we have a living Prophet on this Earth name Thomas S. Monson! I know all of this to be true and more!

Friday the 13th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love when Fridays land on the 13th it makes me laugh. And no I haven't seen the movies nor will I :) Ninth We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God. reveal means Revelation . Without revelation, all would be guesswork, darkness, and confusion. Revelation is so important! Without it we really would be in the dark, wandering around in confusion. It helps us in our daily lives. Personal revelation is the way we know for ourselves the most important truths of our existence. It is a tender experience to petition our Heavenly Father in sincere, heartfelt prayer and look to Him for personal guidance. Our Heavenly Father knows what it best for us.

Summer!!!!!!!!! Can't believe it is June....

I am so excited that it is Summer but this year is going SO fast!!!!!! Anyways I will carry on with my topic of the Articles of Faith. Eighth We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. OK I have to say this Latter-day Saints or otherwise known as Mormons DO believe in the Bible! I am currently reading it! I love the Bible! The reason we say that we believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly is because some people take it and change, add and corrupt it. Joseph Smith taught that “many important points touching the salvation of men, had been taken from the Bible, or lost before it was compiled.” He also said that the Bible was correct as “it came from the pen of the original writers,” but that “ignorant translators, careless transcribers, or designing and corrupt priests have committed many errors.” (HC 1:245; 6:57.) The Church reveres and resp...

It has been a while...

Hello readers! Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I have gotten transferred to an area where I don't have much computer access so these posts will be sparingly. Seventh We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth. We believe in gifts of all kinds! But these ones are talking about spiritual gifts. We all have some and we can all develop them. Spiritual gifts are blessings or abilities given by God to His children through the power of the Holy Ghost. Gifts of the Spirit are given to bless and benefit those who love the Lord and seek to keep His commandments.  How to receive Spiritual Gifts   First, one must identify needs. Spiritual gifts for specific needs are available “by the manifestations of the Spirit of God unto men, to profit them” ( Moro. 10:8 ); but exactly what gifts do you need? Having identified specific needs, it simply remains for us to truly express the desires of our ...

A Plan of Happiness

Sorry I haven't written in a while. I have been contemplating a lot on the Plan of Salvation or another name for it is the Plan of Happiness.  I recently found out that my Grandfather died. He had Alzheimer's so we were already losing him piece by piece. It was heartbreaking seeing him that way. It is hard losing a loved one. I now know that I had already guessed when the time came it would be hard but not as hard as I thought. So today I want to share something that gives me peace about my Grandfather who I grew up calling Papa. The Plan of Happiness Mine or your life didn't begin at birth and it won’t end at death. That is an amazing thing to know! It doesn't end with death. Before we came to earth, our spirit lived with Heavenly Father who created us. You and I knew Him, and He knew and loved us. He had a plan for us and we all knew it would be hard. But He isn't going to leave us alone to roam in the dark. He promised His spirit would be there whe...

April ALREADY!?

I can't believe it is already April and in 2 more months the year will be half over! AH! Sixth We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth. Primitive church? being the first or earliest of the kind or in existence, especially in an early age of the world (dictionary.com) Apostles ? The organization of twelve apostles who are chosen as special witnesses of Christ to all the world. Prophets ? Like the prophets of old, prophets today testify of Jesus Christ and teach His gospel. Pastors ? We call them Bishops but it means, Greek episkopos, meaning “overseer,” an office or position of responsibility. Hence, Jesus is called the “Bishop of your souls” ( 1 Pet. 2:21–25 ). Judas is also spoken of as having a “bishoprick,” reflecting the fact that the Twelve are overseers ( Acts 1:20 ; D&C 114 ). Evangelists ? evangelist is defined as a patriarch W...

Snow days...Where is Spring?

Yesterday was a crazy day! It SNOWED! At points when it wasn't gusting winds and hailing it was beautiful don't get me wrong I still want my Spring :) I have talked a little about today's simple principle before but it is never a bad idea to do it again. Fifth We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof. Called of God? "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you" ( John 15:16 ) We don't randomly pick a person to do the work of God. He is chosen by God to do the work. Prophecy ? "I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say." ( Exodus 4:12 ) A prophecy may pertain to the past, present, or future. When a person prophesies, he speaks or writes that which God wants him to know, for his own good or the good of others. Laying on of hands ? The laying on of hands is the ...

Fourth Principle

Today has been a nice day :) it has warmed up but we shall see how long that lasts. Did some service today I helped paint a house it was fun. :) Fourth We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. What is Faith? To me it is believing in something that you can't see and also ACTING on that belief. Repentance? A way I think about it is a Fancy word for change . Baptism? John 3:5 Holy Ghost ? He “witnesses of the Father and the Son” ( 2 Nephi 31:18 ) and reveals and teaches “the truth of all things” ( Moroni 10:5 ). These are all SO  important to me! I love these principles! I please ask you to consider these, they are something so dear and near to my heart.   Thanks

All four season in a day?!

Today has been an interesting day! lol I have seen the snow/hail I have seen and heard thunder and lightning and I have felt the warm sun ALL in ONE day! Utah weather MAKE UP YOUR MIND! lol ok that is the end of that little rant :) I wish already that Utah would be done with the snow it shouldn't in my opinion be coming when it had decided to be nice and warm and sunny and then change its mind. Well with other things we can change and bring out the sunshine! That goes with today's simple principle. Third We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. John 3:16 I personally KNOW that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. We ALL make mistakes. We ALL have sinned at some point and will still sin at some point. That is why we have the Atonement of what Christ did for us. He died for us so that we may ALL ...

April Showers?

Today is a rainy but BEAUtiful day! :) Hey April showers bring May flowers right?! I know it isn't April yet but only one more week. So like I did last week I am doing basic principles of the Gospel. Second We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression. What is a transgression ? It is a violation or breaking of a commandment or law. I know that everyone will be held accountable for what they themselves have done. Blaming someone else wont help anyone. They may have caused a ripple effect but it is also your own choice to do the action. The Lord has said that all people are responsible for their own motives, attitudes, desires, and actions. We may not know all the consequences to our actions but we are responsible for them nonetheless. God judges us not only for our acts, but also for the desires of our hearts. He knows our situations, he knows ALL things. God still loves you and I do too!!!! Please post UPLIFTING comments ...

Happy Spring!

It is Spring time again!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!! It is a new start to things and everything is growing! :) So with the Spring everything is starting to bloom and sprout and make roots. So should we! Lets help our testimonies and beliefs grow too! So I am doing a segment of the basic principles of the Gospel. First We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. It isn't just "we believe" it is for me personally I KNOW that God, the Eternal Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are real! They love me and care about me so much but it isn't just me it is EVERYONE that they do. Imagine how much a mother or father loves a child, Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us 10 times more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU!

Why is it important?

Ok back to my Seventeen points of the True Church. Why are these things important? Because "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever" ( Heb 13:8 ). Also you can not get anything good out of something bad or corrupt. ( Luke 6:43-44 ) The gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is for the edifying of the people. So what is edify ? The things of God edify: they spiritually support and lift us toward a better life. They bring us closer to our Father in Heaven. The things of Satan do the opposite. No spiritual growth occurs, no intelligence is communicated, we are not edified. That which is of God is light and truth, but that which is not is darkness. additional scriptures 1 Peter 2:12 James 1:22 Please ask or comment uplifting things. Thanks :)

9 Months of adventures so far...

Today is the day I have been away from my home, family and friends for 9 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These 9 months have gone by sooooooooooooo fast! I can't believe in another 9 months I'll be home though.  I left home 9 months ago to serve a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have loved serving the people in the Utah Ogden area and I will continue too for another 9 months! I KNOW this church is true! I KNOW my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ LIVE! I KNOW that Christ loves me so much that he would suffer and die for me and EVERYONE! I KNOW that we have a LIVING Prophet called of God named Thomas S. Monson! I KNOW because of this gospel I can live FOREVER with my family because of Temples! I LOVE this gospel so much! I am sacrificing 18 months of my life to serve and I love doing it! I would never take it back! It is also a sacrifice I am HAPPY to make!  Happy St. Patrick's Day! Please comment! If any questions or comments pl...

By Their Fruits Ye Shall Know Them!

Ok I know this is a little long but it was very interesting looking this all up and learning more for myself :) By their fruits ye shall know them! Matthew 7:20 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit. Luke 6:43-44 This is an excerpt from a talk by Dean L Larsen called "By Their Fruits Ye Shall Know Them" The Savior acknowledged that there would be imposters who would attempt to pass themselves off as his authorized representatives. He warned of false prophets who would come in sheep’s clothing but who would have their own selfish motives to fulfill. “Ye shall know them by their fruits,” he said. It is interesting that this declaration by the Savior was made in response to accusations from the scribes and the Pharisees that he was performing his miracles and healings by the power of the devil. “This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub, the prince of th...

Seventeen Points of the True Church

17. Members of the true church must be called Saints. What it means to be a Saint Some people call us Mormons. Some call us a sect or a cult. We call ourselves Saints. What do these designations signify? A Mormon could be any kind of a person who has membership in the Church. A sect is a body of persons following certain principles or doctrines. The earliest followers of the Savior were called a sect. A cult is described as a particular system of religious worship having a fixed veneration for a person. A saint is one who follows Christ in holiness and devotion with a view fixed on eternal life. With proper understanding, there is nothing wrong with any of these designations. When they are used to imply ridicule and slander, they can all be offensive. A saint is one who follows Christ in holiness and devotion. This is the commitment of a Latter-day Saint. A saint is the way we act not what we are it is what we can become. Daniel 7:21-22 Acts 9:13 Romans 1:7 Romans 15:2...

What a Honor to do things for others

16. The true church must practice baptism for the dead. Jesus Christ taught that baptism is essential to the salvation of all who have lived on earth (see John 3:5 ). Many people, however, have died without being baptized. Others were baptized without proper authority. Because God is merciful, He has prepared a way for all people to receive the blessings of baptism. By performing proxy baptisms in behalf of those who have died, Church members offer these blessings to deceased ancestors. Individuals can then choose to accept or reject what has been done in their behalf. I myself have done many proxy baptisms for my ancestors and other peoples ancestors. We want everyone to get a chance to choose for themselves what has been done for them here on Earth. for additional information 1 Corinthians 15:29 Malachi 4:5-6 1 Peter 3:18 1 Peter 4:6 Revelation 20:12 Matthew 18:18 Matthew 16:18-19 Please comment anything uplifting  questions or just comments. Thanks.

A Restored church?

15. The church must be a RESTORED church. Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? A general falling away from the truth occurred after the death of Christ’s Apostles. This is called the Apostasy ( Amos 8:11-12 ; Acts 20:29-30 ; 2 Timothy 4:3 ). When Jesus Christ lived on the earth, He established His Church. After His Ascension into heaven, His Apostles carried on His work under His direction, through revelation and with His priesthood authority. After the Apostles and many righteous Church members were killed and other members departed from the truth, the Lord took the priesthood authority and His Church from the earth. Without God’s priesthood authority, the Church no longer functioned as Christ had established it. The ordinances were changed and many plain and simple truths were lost. While many good people and some truth remained, the original Church was lost. The Apostles prophesied of the falling away or Apostasy. One example is Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians (...

MY FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK so this is going to be my favorite point :) 14. The true church MUST be a Missionary church!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is my favorite if you didn't already guess because I am a Missionary!! :) Ok so what is a Missionary? It is someone who is sent out to a different place to Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Who all is a missionary? It isn't only our full-time missionaries who share the gospel. Because we believe the gospel of Jesus Christ is the way to true happiness, we want to tell as many of our friends and family about it as we can. We believe, as Peter taught in the New Testament, that we should "be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you" ( 1 Peter 3:15 ). Why do we go on missions and be a missionary? The blessings of the gospel are so precious that we try to share them with everyone we can. The Lord's Church has always been a missionary church. Jesus Christ's life was the perfect...

Revelation

The true church must claim revelation from God! This is why we need Prophets called of God! They reveal all that God wants for us as a whole of a church. I KNOW that God has called people to be his mouth piece and they are His Prophets. I am so grateful that I can turn to the Prophets for the word of God in this hard dark world. It brings me comfort to know that God will never leave us stranded He is always listening and watching He is just waiting for us to listen to Him. Amos 3:7

Called to serve

12. The officers must be called of God. Called of God To be called of God is to receive an appointment or invitation from him or his duly authorized Church leaders to serve him in a particular way. Being called of God also goes with one of the Articles of Faith , "We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof." I have been called to serve as well. Here is a song that explains a lot of what we do :) Called to Serve , "Called to serve Him, heav'nly King of glory, Chosen e'er to witness for his name, Far and wide we tell the Father's story, Far and wide his love proclaim." I am happily serving my Heavenly Father and telling people of the Utah Ogden mission that He loves them and wants the very best for them! Mark 3:14 Matthew 10:1 Hebrews 5:4 Numbers 27:18-23 Exodus 28:1 John 15:16 Exodus 40:13-16

In the image of God

The True Church teach that God and Jesus Christ have bodies of flesh and bones. Body The mortal, physical structure of flesh and bones created in God’s image that is combined with a spirit to make up a living person. The physical bodies of all men and women will be reunited eternally with their spirits in the resurrection. The scriptures sometimes refer to a body and spirit joined together as a soul. We all have bodies of flesh and bone. They are a gift given to us in the likeness of God's image! We are children of a living Heavenly Father. James 3:9 Luke 24:36-39 Acts 1:9-11 Numbers 12:5-8 Exodus 33:11 Genesis 1:26-27 Gen 32:23-30

The 10th Marvelous Truth

The true church must teach that God and Christ are separate and distinct individuals. This goes with the Church's First article of Faith, "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." They are 3 separate beings God the Eternal Father, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. These three beings make up the Godhead . They preside over this world and all other creations of our Father in Heaven. The Mormon view of the members of the Godhead corresponds in a number of ways with the views of others in the Christian world, but with significant differences. Latter-day Saints pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. They acknowledge the Father as the ultimate object of their worship, the Son as Lord and Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit as the messenger and revealer of the Father and the Son. But where Latter-day Saints differ from other Christian religions is in their belief that God and Jesus Christ are glorified, phys...

Number 9 of 17 points of the True Church

Today's point for the Seventeen points of the True Church is an interesting one. 9. The true church must practice divine healing. This is a great talk done by Dallin H Oaks about Healing the Sick He says in one of the points this, "A recent nationwide survey found that nearly 8 in 10 Americans "believe that miracles still occur today as [they did] in ancient times." A third of those surveyed said they had "experienced or witnessed a divine healing." Many Latter-day Saints have experienced the power of faith in healing the sick. We also hear examples of this among people of faith in other churches. A Texas newspaperman described such a miracle. When a five-year-old girl breathed with difficulty and became feverish, her parents rushed her to the hospital. By the time she arrived there, her kidneys and lungs had shut down, her fever was 107 degrees, and her body was bright red and covered with purple lesions. The doctors said she was dying of toxic shock...

A splendid gift that the true church gives!

Almost done with the segment of Does it meet the Test! But it has been interesting looking into what the true church should have and proud that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meets all of these requirements.  8. True church must bestow the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. First thing that pops into my mind is what does the word bestow mean? so this is what Google gave me confer or present (an honor, right, or gift) I think that is a perfect definition for the word bestow because it means to present someone with something and when we are given the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands it really is a gift! Just without the wrapping and bow ;) Acts 8:14-17  Baptized in the name of Jesus Christ then given the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands Acts 9:17-18 Acts 2:38  gift of the Holy Ghost 2 Timothy 1:6-10

What does the true church have?

The true Church must baptize by immersion. What does immersion mean? I typed it into Google and came up with this:  the action of immersing someone or something in a liquid. So baptism by immersion is dipping someone until they are covered completely by water in this case. Ephesians 4:5  One baptism Matthew 3:13-16  Christ being baptized Matthew 3:6  confessing their sins Mark 1:9-11  Christ being baptized John 3:3-6  being born of the Spirit which means being baptized Acts 8:36-39  Believing and then acting on that belief Romans 6:3-5  when we are baptized we are doing away with our old life and starting a new so the burial of our sins and old life and starting clean Baptism is essential to enter the Kingdom of God.

How do you know it meets the test?

Part 6 sorry we aren't halfway there. But we have lots more interesting things to go over :) 6. The true church must have no paid ministry. NO PAID MINISTER!!!!!!!!!!! You've got that right! All the ministers and teachers we have AREN'T paid. Micah 3:11 Luke 22:35-36  lack ye anything? NOTHING! 1 Corinthians 9:18  Preach the Gospel without charge John 10:12-13  when someone is hired they don't care too much about the people sadly 1 Timothy 3:3  Patient, not covetous, and not a fighter Isaiah 45:13 1 Peter 5:2  provide spiritual food for the people I know that all the Teachers and Preachers that we have in this church do it out of love for the people they serve! I know because I have done it myself. I love the people I have served so far and right now I am serving still! I will most likely serve others for the rest of my life and I will do it with a smile on my face!

Meet the test? Does it meet the test!

Ok I am being a bit more creative with my titles :) 5. The true church must claim Divine Authority! Ok so what is Divine Authority? It is the Priesthood which that means the Powers of Heaven or the authority from God to act in His name Hebrews 5:4-10   Melchizedek Priesthood 1 Timothy 2:7  ordained a preacher Acts 14:2 Acts 6:5-6  the laying on of hands Acts 19:1-6  the laying on of hands to receive the Holy Ghost There is a talk by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland called Our Most Distinguishing Feature  and that feature is the Priesthood. Elder David A. Bednar said, "The priesthood is the authority of God delegated to men on the earth to act in all things for the salvation of mankind. Priesthood is the means whereby the Lord acts through men to save souls. One of the defining features of the Church of Jesus Christ, both anciently and today, is His authority. There can be no true Church without divine authority." The Priesthood is on the earth today and ...

Part 4 does it meet the test!

Sorry I am not super creative for my titles. But since they are about the same you know exactly what I am talking about no surprises 4. The true church must have the same organization as Christ Church. this just goes with everything I have been talking about so far :) see it all supports each other. Titus 1:5-7  Elders and Bishops Philippians 1:1  Bishops and Deacons 1 Corinthians 12:28  Apostles, Prophets, and Teachers Ephesians 4:11-14  Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist (Patriarch), Pastor (Bishop), and Teachers Ephesians 2:20  Apostles and Prophets Luke 10:1-2   Seventy Acts 14:23  Elders Acts 16:1-6  Holy Ghost Acts 20:12-18  Elders We have all these things in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Please really search and look for Christ church! It is there and you just don't know where to find it. But you don't have to look any further. He will gladly accept yo with open and loving arms. God organizes everything h...

Does it meet the test part 3...

ok so it isn't a surprise right now what I am going to talk about. So I will continue :) 3. The true church must have a foundation of Apostles. hmmmm Apostles you say.... What is a Apostle? "In Greek, Apostle means “one sent forth.” It was the title Jesus gave to the Twelve whom he chose and ordained to be his closest disciples and helpers during his ministry on earth. He sent them forth to represent him and to minister for him after his ascension into heaven. Both anciently and in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in the restored Church today, an Apostle is a special witness of Jesus Christ in all the world to testify of his divinity and of his resurrection from the dead." The Guide to the Scriptures It is one called to be a witness of Jesus Christ and to teach and testify of Him. Ephesians 2:19-20 Ephesians 4:11-14 this goes back to that Christ organized the church Acts 1:22-26 1 Corinthians 12:28-29 We have Apostles here on earth today! They do e...

Does it meet the Test part 2!!!!

Ok so for part 2 today the topic is....... drum roll........ 2. The True church must bear the name of Christ! Bear the name of Christ. What do you think that means? I asked a few people if they would answer this question. My Mission President and His wife answered- "It means EVERYTHING! It is not Monson 's church. It is Christ's church He is the one I follow. The restoration means putting things the way they were previous it is not man made and it was established when Christ was here." My companion  Sister Ang -"Christ lead the Church back then. And only through Christ can we go back to him. It would make sense that His Church, would have His name and do what we can, to be like Him and rely on Him. Because through Him, we all return to Heavenly Father." Dale Roberts- "Christ told us (according to the New Testament) that his church would bear HIS name. Therefore, if you were trying to find HIS church, wouldn't it make sense to look for one ...

Does it meet the Test?????

Ok I am sorry I haven't written in a long while. I just haven't had much to say. But now I do. I am going to write about seventeen points of the True Church. SEVENTEEN! I am going to do one well I am going to try to do one every day! 1. Christ organized the Church. Who else would make the perfect church?! Only Christ could because He himself was perfect so only He could organize it. Ephesians 4:11-14 in this scripture it is talking about Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists (Patriarch), Pastors (Bishop) and Teachers; and what they do which is for perfecting, and edifying of the saints! Matthew 16:15-20 this scripture is Christ talking and he is saying how He will build His church on a rock (I see it as Him figuratively building it on a rock since a rock is a sure foundation! a foundation where men build they can not fall!). So if it is the True Church as it says the gates of hell shall not prevail (prove more powerful) against it. I am 100% sure that The Church of Jesus ...

Book of Mormon

There is a power to the Book of Mormon that you can't find in any other book. Everyone feels that Mormons replace the Bible with the Book of Mormon which is NOT true! The Book of Mormon is ANOTHER testament or witness of Jesus Christ and it expands, confirms and builds upon the truths in the Bible. Every principle in this book is focused on Jesus Christ and how we as a people can come closer to him. One passage says that the Book of Mormon "shall establish the truth" of the Bible "and shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father, and the Savior of the world; and that all men must come unto him, or they cannot be saved" 1 Nephi 13:40 My testimony of the Book of Mormon is what I strive to share! I KNOW it is true with all of my heart! Everything that the Book of Mormon states helps you draw closer to Christ.
