Bonjour & Welcome

A Testimony

A testimony is worth sharing!

My testimony of Christ is so dear to me for many reasons and I love sharing it. He died for ME! Me. Someone who isn't always the best and someone who doesn't always do the right thing. But that is everyone. He died for everyone. Even the people we don't know. The homeless, the poor, the needy, the righteous and the unrighteous. If He didn't die for me I wouldn't be able to return to live with my Heavenly Father again. I am so thankful that He did that for me. He only did that beloved act because He loves me so much, more than I can comprehend. Also I KNOW that He lives! I know it with every fiber of my being! And because He lives I can live again. Christ is so perfect and it is exactly that reason that only He could do that nameless act that He performed for everyone. When I see Him again and I know I will. I will fall to my knees with tears streaming down my face in nameless gratitude for Him. He suffered everything I have suffered right along side me. The pain, the loneliness and the silent sufferings. They never went unnoticed by Him. He knows and only He can know how we all have truly felt. It is for those exact reasons I decided to go on a mission. A mission to show others what He willingly did for me, you and them. I leave this with you in the name of our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. Amen

"Remember, happiness doesn't depend on who you are or what you have; it depends solely on what you think."-Dale Carnegie

“What we love determines what we seek. What we seek determines what we think and do. What we think and do determines who we are — and who we will become.”-Dieter F. Uchtdorf

What will you seek after?

Will you seek after the worldly things this season or will you seek after Christ?

It is your choice and your choice alone but remember the choices you make DO affect others.

Christmas time!!!!!

It is getting closer and closer! Christmas time!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited! I love the season of Christmas! I heard a story recently about Santa Claus and the similarities he has with Christ. Here I will share

He wears red. (Isaiah 63:2)
His hair is white. (Revelation 1:14)
He comes in the Night. (1 Thessalonians 5:2)
He loves little children. (Matthew 19:14)
He knows we are good. (1 Timothy 2:3,4)
And He brings gifts. (James 1:17)

Eternal love, no beginning, no end. Love comes full circle

The light of Christ, our own inner light

Giving, sharing, thinking of others

Tied in the bonds of brotherly love

Rings to bring lost sheep home

The evergreen of everlasting life, pointing heavenward

The Savior's sacrifice for all

Candy Cane
Shepherd's crook for bringing lambs back to the fold

The Bethlehem star, a sign of prophecy, the light of the world

Santa Claus
The spirit of Christmas, giving and receiving love, caring, sharing, kindness, cheerfulness, happiness, peace, good will to all, Christlike living

Season of Christ

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Christmas time. It is such a happy season and a fun time too. Since I am in Utah I have had the opportunity to play in the snow! I really have never done that before (I know it's sad isn't it lol). But lets not forget the most important thing about this time though.... Christ.

I wrote a poem and I called it Christmas

To God the most High,

Is what the angel's sang.
Christ our Savior was born,
In a manger,
For there was no crib to lie his sweet head.
We now thank thee this Christmas season,
For this is the season of Christ.
The giving to others
As Christ gave to us.
What a gift to give
We now have,
To share His gospel
Through all the world.
The light of Christ
To everyone's home.
It's a nameless act
That we willingly do.

Lets all share the message of Christ this season. Share it with a beloved friend or family member, or even someone you feel impressed to share it with. Everyone needs to hear good tidings this season. And when you do I KNOW you will feel the true Christmas Spirit. I love you all!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Sorry I haven't been able to post much anymore I have been transferred to a new area where I don't have a computer accessible to me to post on my blog.

But a little advice I found recently;

Life isn't about finding yourself- life is about creating yourself. -George Bernard Shaw
Never look down on anybody unless you're helping them up. - Jesse Jackson

Thanksgiving is for giving thanks to the things we have that are important to us like our family, Christ, the Gospel, etc. So during this season lets give thanks for those things and the tender mercies that happen in our life everyday. Just as Christmas is about Christ so should Thanksgiving because without Christ we would have nothing.

So lets create ourselves a beautiful season and help others up :)

A month of Thanksgiving

What are you thankful for this season?
1 Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

My God, I have never thanked You for my thorns. I have thanked You a thousand times for my roses, but never once for my thorns. Teach me the glory of the cross I bear; teach me the value of my thorns. Show me that I have climbed closer to You along the path of pain. Show me that, through my tears, the colors of Your rainbow look much more brilliant.

Lets be thankful for all that happens to us. The sad and the happy times. We can learn and we grow from it all.

Christ's Parables part 2

Parable of the Sower

Matthew 13:3-9, 18-23; Mark 4:3-9, 14-20; Luke 8:4-8, 11-15

sow- to plant seeds
wayside- hard ground that has been walked on (such as a path or road)
devoured- ate
withered away- died

These are all interpretations that I have come up with from the scriptures or my own:

The seed means- the word of God
wayside means- those that hear but Satan comes and takes the belief away
stony places means- those that hear but don't have a place to put forth their roots and then fall into temptation
among thorns means- those that hear but are choked by the things of the world
good ground means- those that hear and take it to heart and are living the word of God

So choose your soil.
Are you going to be the wayside or the road?
Or the rocks?
Or the thorns?
Or will you choose to be the good ground and plant the word of God into your heart and let it grow?

None of the soils in the parable had to stay in the condition it was in. We choose what soil we are.

To improve your soil lets take out the rocks and thorns in our lives or the temptations and tribulations and cast them out and shun them as you would a disease. Then lets get the good ground coming by reading the word of God and praying to our Father in Heaven for help. Improving your soil will let those spiritual seeds or the word of God more fully plant themselves into your heart and you will be more open to the enticing of the Spirit.

I have been called

When I opened up my mission call this is what I read:

You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

That means so much to me!

"Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life." (3 Nephi 5:13)

I have left my family for a short time, so others may be with their families for eternity.

If you are struggling, feeling lost, not complete, or anything Christ can help! Let Him help you! If you have any questions feel free to ask me, other missionaries in your area or look on We want to help! We love you and we want you too know Christ loves you!

Called to serve Him, heavenly King of glory, Chosen e'er to witness for his name, Far and wide we tell the Father's story, Far and wide his love proclaim. Called to know the richness of his blessing, Sons and Daughters, Children of a King, Glad of heart, his holy name confessing, Praises unto him we bring. Onward, ever onward, as we glory in his name; Forward, pressing forward, as a triumph song we sing. God our strength will be; press forward ever, Called to serve our King.

Christ's Parables Part 1

Ok I have decided I want to talk about or study Christ's Parables. This is going to be a post with many parts as you might say.

So first I asked myself what does parable mean?

ANSWER: The word parable comes from the Greek paraballo, which means "to set beside" or "to compare." A parable, therefore, is a simple story in which the narrator compares the common experiences of his listeners to some divine truth.

Ok so why did the Savior use Parables?
So his disciples came and asked him this same question. "He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of  heaven, but to them it is not given." (Matthew 13:10-11)

The Master Teacher's parables show both the justice and mercy of God at work among those who hear them. "Two men may hear the same words," wrote Elder James E. Talmage (1862-1933). "One of them listens in indolence and indifference, the other with active mind intent on learning all that the words can possibly convey; and, having heard, the diligent man goes straightway to do the things commended to him, while the careless one neglects and forgets. The one is wise, the other foolish; the one has heard to his eternal profit, the other to his everlasting condemnation."

Interpreting and Application

Ok so how do you interpret them and apply them? Well this is what I am going to study but this is what I have found.
Discovering how to interpret and apply the parables of Jesus is essential to getting the most from them. To interpret a parable, one must study what it meant to them, there, then. To apply a parable, one must ponder what it means to me, here, now. "The only true interpretation is the meaning the parable conveyed, or was meant to convey, when first spoken. The application of a parable may vary in every age and circumstance."

The Parables and you. Me? Yes YOU!

Your diligent study and application of the parables of Jesus will bring you closer to the central purpose of life: to come unto Christ and live His gospel.
SWEET! Who doesn't want to do that? I know I do and I hope you do too! Because my purpose as a missionary is to help others "come unto Christ"!
Elder Bruce R. McConkie (1915-85) said: "Parables are a call to investigate the truth; to learn more; to inquire into the spiritual realities, which, through them, are but dimly viewed. Parables start truth seekers out in the direction of further light and knowledge and understanding; they invite men to ponder such truths as they are able to bear in the hope of learning more. Parables are a call to come unto Christ, to believe his doctrines, to live his laws, and to be saved in his kingdom."

The Challenge the "Book of Mormon" makes to the world

I have a strong testimony that the Book Of Mormon is true! I love it and I read it everyday. I constantly pray to have a reassurance that it is true. I know with all of my heart, might, mind and soul that it is TRUE! The reason I pray constantly to know that it is true is to have an unwavering testimony of it. I know Joseph Smith translated it for the world to read. I don't want to hide the principles and teachings it has of Jesus Christ in it from the world. I know it is ANOTHER Testament of Jesus Christ that HE LIVES! And that He loves ALL nations kindred, tongue and people. If our Heavenly Father wants to give us more scriptures to know that He and His son live how dare we say they can't! This wonderful book does NOT replace the Bible! It builds upon the truths that are in it! I love it and I invite you to read it and find out for yourself that it is true.

I found this challenge and I want to share it.

The Challenge The "Book of Mormon" makes to the world

If one scoffs at the missionary's explanation of the Book of Mormon, he is in so many words claiming it to be false: that it is a deceiving fraud formulated through the efforts and talents of a common man. What is produced by one man, can always be duplicated by another man. The challenge the Book of Mormon makes to the world is that of duplication. Because the book complies with every one of the following conditions, and in order for you to produce a similar record, you must comply with the same conditions.
Here is the challenge- Can you accept it?

1. Write a history of ancient Tibet covering a period from 2200 B.C. to 400 A.D. Why ancient Tibet? Because you know more about Tibet than Joseph Smith (or anyone else) knew about ancient America.

2. You're 23 years of age.

3. You have had no more than three years of formal school education, and have spent your life in backwoods farming communities.

4. Your history must be written on the basis of what you now know. There was no library that held information for Joseph Smith. You must use none. There is to be no research of any kind.

5. Your book must be 531 pages and over 300,000 words in length.

6. Other than a few grammatical corrections, you must have no changes in the text. The first edition as you dictated it to your secretary must stand forever.

7. This record is to contain the history of two distinct and separate nations, along with histories of different contemporary nations or groups of people.

8. You must describe their religious, economic, political, and social cultures and institutions. Cover every phase of their society, including the names of their coins.

9. Change your style of writing many times. Many ancient authors contributed to the Book of Mormon, each with his own style.

10. Weave into your history the religion of Jesus Christ and the Pattern of Christian living.

11. you must claim that your smooth narrative is not fiction with moral value, but true and sacred history.

12. You must include in your book fifty-four chapters dealing with wars, twenty-one historical chapters, fifty-five chapters on visions and prophecies you must have your record agree meticulously with the Bible. You must write seventy-one chapters on doctrine and exhortation, and here too, you must check every statement with the scriptures or yours will be proven to be a fraud. You must write twenty-one chapters on the ministry of Christ, and every thing you claim he said and did and every testimony you write in your book must agree absolutely with the New Testament.

13. Many of the facts, claims, ideas, and statements given as absolutely true in your writings must be entirely inconsistent with the prevailing beliefs of the world. Some of these worldly beliefs must prove to be in direct opposite of your claims.

14. Included in your narration will be authentic modes of travel; whether or not those ancient people used fire; description of their clothing, crops, mourning, customs, and types of government. You must invent about 280 new names that will stand up under  scrutiny through the years as to their proper application and derivation.

15. you will have to use, properly, figures of speech, similes, metaphors, narrations, exposition, description, oratory, epic lyric and parables.

16. You must invite the ablest scholars and experts to examine the text with care, and you must strive diligently to see that your book get into the hands of those eager to prove it a forgery, and who are most competent to expose every flaw in it.

17. Thorough investigations, scientific and historical evidence, and archaeological discovery for the next 175 years must verify its claims and prove detail after detail to be true, for many of the details you put in your history are still buried beneath the soil of Tibet.

18. You must publish it to every nation kindred, tongue and people declaring it to be the word of God and another witness for the Lord Jesus Christ.

19. The book must not contain any absurd, impossible, or contradictory statements. Your history must not contain any statement elsewhere in the volume.

20. Many theories and ideas as to its origin must arise, and after discovering and examining the facts, they must fall. You have claimed that your knowledge had come from a divine origin, and this claim continues to stand as the only possible explanation. The strength of the explanation must not decrease as time passes, but actually increase to the point where it becomes the only logical explanation.

21. Your record is to fulfill many Bible prophecies, even in the exact manner i which it shall come forth, to whom delivered, its purposes, its accomplishments.

22. Call down and angel from heaven in the middle of the day and have him bear testimony to four honest, dignified citizens of your community that the record is the word of God. There witnesses must bear the angel's testimony to the world, not for profit or gain, but under great sacrifice and severe persecution, even to their deathbeds. you must put that testimony to the test by becoming enemies to these men.

23. Thousands of great men, intellectual giants, national and international personalities, and scholars for 175 years must accept your history and its teachings even to the point of laying down their lives rather than deny their testimony of it.

24. You must include within the record this promise; "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, He will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost."

25. Millions must bear record to the world for the next 175 years that they know the record to be true because they put the promise to the test and found it to be true. The truth of it was manifested to them by the power of the Holy Ghost.

26. Since 1830, hundreds of thousands of competent salesmen must be so sold on your book that they gladly give up two or more years of their lives to take it to all parts of the world for distribution. They not only pay their own way during these years, but return bearing testimony that the time spent will remain as one of the highlights of their lives. They receive nothing in return for their efforts but the joy of having shared your book with others.

27. Your book must not only raise the standards of millions of people but do it in such a way that they become one of the great moral, ethical and dynamic marvels of the day. They must become world renowned for this.

28. For the next 20 years you must watch those that follow you, your family, and the dearest of your loved ones persecuted, driven time after time from their homes, beaten, tortured, starved, frozen, and killed. Tens of thousands must undergo the most extreme hardships in your presence just because they believe your claims concerning the origin and content of what you have written on ancient Tibet.

29. you must gain no wealth from your work, but many times lose all that you have. Like those that believe you, you must submit yourself to the most vile persecution. And finally after 20 years of this, give your own life in a very savage and brutal manner, for your testimony concerning your history book. This must be done willingly on your part.

30. Start right now and produce this record which covers 2600 years of history, doing it, not in the peaceful atmosphere of your community, but under the most trying of circumstances, which includes being driven from your home several times, and receiving constant threats upon your life. Please have your book completed, talk to a friend into mortgaging his farm to raise money to have it printed- all in 60 days.

There is only one answer; The Book of Mormon is a divine record. It not, its origin must be stated and its claims must be explained by the critic. IT ISN'T ENOUGH TO MERELY DISCARD IT AS FALSE AND FORGET ABOUT IT!

The first thing to do in examining any ancient text is to consider it in the light of the origin and background that is claimed for it. If it fits into that background there is no need to look farther, since historical forgery is virtually impossible.

I want to tell you my testimony again, That I KNOW that this church is true and I know it with all of my heart, mind and SOUL! It is God's true church restored to the earth. It has many blessings that I would never want to live without. I have a powerful testimony of prayer and I know that Heavenly Father loves me and you and knows us ALL by name and knows how to help everyone of us no matter the circumstances. I love you and I want to help you and so does Christ.

Can we let go of what people have said to us or what we do to our self's and let go and let Christ help us?

"Without God, repentance would have little meaning, and forgiveness would be both unnecessary and unreal. If there were no God, life would indeed be meaningless; … we might find justification in an urge to live only for today, to ‘eat, drink and be merry,’ to dissipate, to satisfy every worldly desire. If there were no God there would be no redemption, no resurrection, no eternities to anticipate, and consequently no hope.” -Spencer W. Kimball

Spiritual Crocodiles!

Here is a story from Boyd K Packer's life.

We stopped at a water hole to watch the animals come to drink. It was very dry that season and there was not much water, really just muddy spots. When the elephants stepped into the soft mud the water would seep into the depression and the animals would drink from the elephant tracks.
The antelope, particularly, were very nervous. They would approach the mud hole, only to turn and run away in great fright. I could see there were no lions about and asked the guide why they didn't drink. His answer, and this is the lesson, was “Crocodiles.”
I knew he must be joking and asked him seriously, “What is the problem?” The answer again: “Crocodiles.”
“Nonsense,” I said. “There are no crocodiles out there. Anyone can see that.”
I thought he was having some fun at the expense of his foreign game expert, and finally I asked him to tell us the truth. Now I remind you that I was not uninformed. I had read many books. Besides, anyone would know that you can’t hide a crocodile in an elephant track.
He could tell I did not believe him and determined, I suppose, to teach me a lesson. We drove to another location where the car was on an embankment above the muddy hole where we could look down. “There,” he said. “See for yourself.”
I couldn't see anything except the mud, a little water, and the nervous animals in the distance. Then all at once I saw it!—a large crocodile, settled in the mud, waiting for some unsuspecting animal to get thirsty enough to come for a drink.
Suddenly I became a believer! When he could see I was willing to listen, he continued with the lesson. “There are crocodiles all over the park,” he said, “not just in the rivers. We don’t have any water without a crocodile somewhere near it, and you’d better count on it.”
There are physical crocodiles and there are spiritual ones. Boyd K Packer goes on to tell how these spiritual crocodiles can kill and mutilate our souls! They destroy our peace of mind and those that love us.

It is somewhat against our nature especially when we are young to listen to the guidance of others (our parents, teachers, older siblings, Prophets...etc). But there are times that what they are saying is so very important for us to listen too our very existence could depend on it!

Some of us are appointed to be those guides and help others to safety. You one day will be too. IF you listen to them. If you listen you will learn how to listen to the best guide of all! The Holy Ghost! If we as your guides can train you to listen to those spiritual communications, you WILL be protected from the spiritual crocodiles. But only you are capable of that choice to listen. Use it wisely.

Missionary Work

The Lord has declared that missionary work is the responsibility of all who follow Him!

"Every member a missionary!" -David O. McKay

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." (Matthew 28:19-20)

You cannot convert people beyond your own conversion!

"What does the Atonement have to do with missionary work? Any time we experience the blessings of the Atonement in our lives, we cannot help but have a concern for the welfare of others....A great indicator of one's personal conversion is the desire to share the gospel with others."-Howard W. Hunter

Lets all do a little better and don't judge someone as not interested invite them if you don't you are taking away their agency! Even if they don't say yes you still are giving them a chance and showing that you care!

When we experience happiness we naturally want to share it with others. If you tell them and say that you are doing this because you love them and you want them to be happy how can anyone be upset about that!?

Here are seven simple suggestions for sharing the gospel

  1. LIVE YOUR RELIGION. A Latter-day Saint’s life is his or her best sermon. Our conversations ought to be open, genuine, and engaged in with a spirit of kindness. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are most believable when our actions are in harmony with our beliefs.
  2. ESTABLISH A FOUNDATION. Rather than responding to random questions, it might be helpful to establish a foundation—explain that we embrace Jesus Christ as our Savior and accept the Bible’s teachings, but believe that the Christian world departed from basic truths, and so Christ needed to restore His Church.
  3. CONNECT THE DOTS. Try to discern the gospel principle at the heart of a question, and connect the answer back to the Savior. We do not need complicated, sophisticated arguments when the principles we try to live by come from the Son of God.
  4. SHARE EXPERIENCES. Answering questions is not about reciting memorized answers. Sharing genuine, personal experiences can invite the Spirit to bear witness and carry the message into the listener’s heart.
  5. UNDERSTAND YOUR AUDIENCE. The same conversation isn't going to work for everyone—we all have different backgrounds. And remember that a casual question doesn't require a half-hour lecture as a reply. Be sensitive to interest, comfort, and level of understanding. Signal that sensitivity so that those who are curious can feel at ease.
  6. USE RESOURCES. The Church has created online resources that can be helpful for members to share with those who have questions. Church magazines are available online and in print, and items available at distribution centers may be helpful. Sharing a copy of the Book of Mormon may also be appropriate. You can also create an online profile on Here is my profile!
  7. BE A FORCE FOR GOOD. Members of the Church can help clear up misconceptions and increase understanding of who we are and what we believe. People may see differences between what they believe and what Latter-day Saints believe, but they may also find common ground on which to build better relationships.

Judge Not

This is a talk I did a while back and I had an impression to put it up.

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. (John 7:24)
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is you reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.(Matthew 5:11-12)

Why do we judge others?

Ok some reasons I think are
  • It is easier to criticize than to be constructive

"The church is not a place where perfect people gather to say perfect things, or have perfect thought, or have perfect feelings. The church is a place where imperfect people gather to provide encouragement, support, and service to each other as we press on in our journey to return to our Heavenly Father."-Joseph B. Wirthlin

PEOPLE ARE NOT PERFECT! they are sometimes annoying, disappointing, inconsiderate, and selfish, and they DO make mistakes. Thus, it is easy for us to find faults, because there are plenty of them around. We don't have to look far.

  • To magnify our own virtues.
"The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday."-Unknown

Because it is easier to criticize than to be constructive, we may decide not to improve ourselves but instead attempt to make others look smaller by tearing them down.

Improve our self's and DON'T BE A BULLY!

Secure, successful people do not feel the need to undermine others in order to establish their own worth.

  • To justify our own faults.
"Because we ourselves are sinners, we are not justified in condemning others for sinning."-Unknown

By pointing out how many other people have faults and that some of their faults are worse than, ours, we make our faults seem smaller by comparison.

Dr. Suess has a saying and it is, "a person is a person no matter how small" well I have a thought that goes with it in a sense.

"A sin is a sin not matter how small." We need to use the Atonement that Christ has given us and we NEED to fix our mistakes. And not worry about others and their mistakes.

  • Revenge or jealousy.

Because we have been wronged by someone, we may want to get even with them by hurting them. Or we may want to tear down a person who outshines us.

"When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself."-Wayne Dyer

Charity! We need to have Charity! Charity is the pure LOVE of CHRIST! It includes God's eternal love for ALL His children. We are to seek to develop that kind of love.

"We do not judge the people we love."-Jean-Paul Sattre

We were commanded to Love thy neighbor not some of the time ALL the time.

  • To shift the blame
When we make mistakes, we avoid the responsibility for them by criticizing the performance of those who are working with us. Or we may try to shift the responsibility by finding fault with the performance of others.

That every man may act in doctrine and principle pertaining to futurity, according to the moral agency which I have given unto him, that every man may be accountable for his own sins in the day of judgment. (D&C 101:78)

Heavenly Father always knows! No matter what!

Instead lets
  • Look for the good!
"If we will always look for the best in others, in our friends, in our neighbors, in our wife, in our husband, in our children, they will turn out to be the most wonderful people in the world. On the other hand, if we are looking for their weaknesses and faults and enlarge upon them, these same people may become even despicable."-President Tanner

Red is for courage to do what is right!
"My earnest prayer is that you will have the courage required to refrain from judging others, the courage to stand firm for truth and righteousness."-Thomas S. Monson

Duty To God

"Decisions determine destiny"-Thomas S Monson

"The Scout, in his promise, undertakes to do his duty to his king and country only in the second place; his first duty is to God. There is a higher mission before us, namely the promotion of the Kingdom of God; That is, the rule of Peace and Goodwill on earth."-Robert Baden-Powell

"Duty to God - means a lot more than saying a prayer every time you need a favor. A lot more. Duty to God is simply that voluntary gesture you must make and remake a million times in your lifetime as a statement of your recognition that there is someone above this universe who watches over this universe and to whom each of us is a favorite son."-Jimmy Stewart

"Believe in anything you want to believe in, but keep God at the top of it. With Him, life can be a beautiful experience. Without Him, you're just biding time."-John Wayne

Yes this is for men but you know what us woman have a Duty to God too.

ALL HUMAN BEINGs (and it means ALL!)male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.

WE WILL “STAND as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places”

We are ALL supposed to stand as a witness of God! Not just the men but the woman too. So lets all do our Duty and be an example of the believers! (1 Timothy 4:12)

More than the world

More than the world

Purple skies
Hazel eyes
New Horizons
In the spring grey turns green
hope once dead is brought to life
Shady tree
shoes in hand with my bare feet in the sand;
Spanish poems, skipping stones
the dusty road that takes me home
People have told me how to be happy
but I find their remedies empty
These are my pearls:
God's treasures unfurled
mean more tho this girl
more that the world to me
Photographs from the past
summer nap time in the grass
Constellations in the sky
the northern lights will make you cry
And people have told me how to be happy
but I find their remedies empty
These are my pearls:
God's treasures unfurled
mean more to this girl
more than the world to me
Grant me 20,000 wishes
cover me with lavish things
but I believe in loaves and fishes
miracles and mustard seeds
People have told me how to be happy
but I find their remedies empty
These are my pearls:
God's treasures unfurled
mean more to this girl
more than the world to me

Stand for what you believe in and don't waver. There are things more important than worldly objects.

Wherefore, do not spend money for that which is of no worth, nor your labor for that which cannot satisfy. Hearken diligently unto me, and remember the words which I have spoken; and come unto the Holy One of Israel, and feast upon that which perisheth not, neither can be corrupted, and let your soul delight in fatness. (2 Nephi 9:51)

"If you hear a voice within you say, "you cannot paint," then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced."- Vincent Van Gogh

"As long as we are willing to rise up again and continue on the path, ... we can learn something from failure and become better and happier."- Dieter F. Uchtdorf

We all have times when we fall physically or spiritually and we either can't get up or don't feel like we can. We need to remember that we can always get up we just might need a little encouraging. Just like Dieter F. Uchtdorf says, "Even when we think we cannot rise up, there is still hope. And sometimes we just need someone to look us in the eyes, take our hand and say, "You can do it now!"

We all have feelings of guilt, depression, and failure. No one likes to fail. But our mortal life is a test! Our Heavenly Father loves us so much and because he loves us He shows us where we can find the answers. "When we stray-when we fall or depart from the way of our Heavenly Father-the words of the prophets tell us how to rise up and get back on track."

We all go through difficult times in our lives and our Heavenly Father knows we can get through them we just need to have faith in our self's. "A faith that isn't tested shouldn't be trusted!"

You Can Do It Now!

Lost (a poem)

Everyone has feelings of loneliness and such. But how to over come them? Through the light of Christ can we become found again. This is a poem I wrote about such feelings.

I have feelings of loneliness that I can't break
The chains are on me and darkness around me.
I have gotten myself in a bind
and don't know how to get out.
I feel lost and don't know what to do.
I am on my knees with streams of
tears that flow down my face.
I hear a dark sound of laughter
that echos through my head.
I feel as if I've lost the light.
I begin to stand with some flicker of Hope.
I stomp my feet wanting to be let out,
I feel a soft touch that I didn't notice before
A hand is reaching for me, I see it now.
I stretch forth with all my might.
I am blinded by the light but now
I know I haven't become part of the night.
I see a loving face with tear stained eyes
I want to know how my knight in so
much pain could save a wretched soul like mine.
He says, "My child I love you don't forget
what you're worth."
I'm on my knees kissing His feet,
I see the marks that He so willingly took
to save my wretched soul.
I look up to His smiling face,
my Savior, my friend.
I once was lost but now I am found.

You can always come back to the light and when you do Christ will have open arms to you. Do not despair Heaven is always near.

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go. -T. S. Eliot

This quote means to me is that when you push yourself to the limit you think you will break is when you will find that you can go further than you think you could.

Push yourself a little bit and when you do you can endure things that you never thought you could.

So "Never look down on anybody unless you're helping them up." Jesse Jackson

Help everyone endure to the end and "they shall be lifted up at the last day, and shall be saved in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb."1 Nephi 13:37

I am sorry it has been a little bit since I have posted. But I want to express my gratitude to the people around me and to my Heavenly Father.

First the meaning of gratitude: Gratitude is a feeling of appreciation and thankfulness for blessings or benefits we have received. As we cultivate a grateful attitude, we are more likely to be happy and spiritually strong. We should regularly express our gratitude to God for the blessings He gives us and to others for the kind acts they do for us.

So many people while I have been on my mission have supported me and helped me in so many ways. Yesterday a family gave us so much food that we needed and they were inspired to give it. We were reluctant but they wouldn't let us leave without it. I am so thankful for them.

I want to forever have an attitude of Gratitude. I am so thankful for my family and friends who are supporting me. I am so thankful for the Lord and all the blessings he gives me and the people who help and support me. I am so thankful for Jesus Christ and how he alone atoned for mine and everyone else's sins. As Thomas S Monson states,

"This is a wonderful time to be living here on earth. Our opportunities are limitless. While there are some things wrong in the world today, there are many things right, such as teachers who teach, ministers who minister, marriages that make it, parents who sacrifice, and friends who help.

We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues."

I am thankful for our Prophet Thomas S Monson and all that he does for us. He leads and guides us in these dark times of the world. I am thankful for my mission President and all that he does and is inspired on where to put us to help our brothers and sisters. I am thankful for my companions and how they teach me and are an example to me.

Keep having an attitude of Gratitude and express it in some way to someone.

An Attitude of Gratitude

General Conference Saturday Morning session

These are some of my favorite quotes from the first session. If you haven't gotten to watch it yet I would strongly encourage you too!

"Doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith. We must never allow doubt to hold us prisoner and keep us from the divine love, peace and gifts that come through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ."-Dieter F. Uchtdorf

"Never look back. Look forward at what we still have to do."-Edward Dube

"In the service of the Lord it is not where you serve, but how."-Edward Dube

"Windows allow natural light to enter into a building. In like manner spiritual illumination and perspective are poured out through the windows of heaven and into our lives as we honor the law of tithing."-David A Bednar

"God will keep his promises to you as you honor your covenants with him."-Carole M. Stephens

"I promise you in his name, that if you pray with sincere desire to hear your Father's voice in the messages of this conference, you will discover that he has spoken to you to help you, and to strengthen you, and to lead you home into his presence." Robert D. Hales

Remember (a poem)

This poem I wrote was inspired about some feelings I had about how could you miss someone you don't remember?

I was told that I once walked with the Savior
Through meadows and streams.
I have been told of His infinite love
That love he has for me.
But I don't remember holding His hand
or seeing His face.
How can you miss someone you don't remember?
It is through faith and feelings of love
that engulf me that I know.
I did once see His loving face
and feel His warm caring embrace.
That is how you miss someone that
you can't remember.

Mercy's Hand (a poem)

This is a poem by a dear friend of mine Shanna Hugie she wrote it in the Book of Mormon Gallery-LDS conference Center

His face was on the ground.
Sin's dust down in his lungs.
He hadn't seen a sunrise
Since he became undone.
His choices took him far
Down a road of grime.
Still...he could there remember
A peaceful other time...
Was it just fake memory
When he had seen his Father's face
Or...did it really happen
Another time...another place
Was it far too late
For him to find the way
Or, did he see there waiting
Two beings on that day.
He looked and saw the hand
Of mercy reaching out
With justice by her side
Still...he was full of doubt.
Then...he heard a prompting
"My can come home.
Just reach toward my justice
And mercy will be shown."

You are a daughter of GOD!

You are a important daughter of God don't you EVER forget that!

Diligence is steady, consistent, earnest, and energetic effort in doing the Lord's work. Don't wait for your leaders to tell you what to do. Continue until you have done all you can, even when you are tired.

"I have often said one of the greatest secrets of missionary work is work! If a missionary works, he will get the Spirit; if he gets the Spirit, he will teach by the Spirit; and if he teaches by the Spirit, he will touch the hearts of the people and he will be happy. There will be no homesickness, no worrying about families, for all time and talents and interests are centered of the work of the ministry. Work, work, work!-there is no satisfactory substitute, especially in missionary work."- Ezra Taft Benson

What does it mean to be diligent?
Conquering the enemy of all righteousness! We all know who that is! (hint: Satan)
learn your duty and serve with all your heart!
Don't work your self to death but still work hard :)

Why does the Lord expect you to be diligent?
We have chosen to do this that is why! We fight the darkness and bring about the light.

How does diligence relate to agency?
According to their wants and needs we choose how to help them. We shouldn't need to ask just get to work!

Random Church fact of the day

Ezra Taft Benson had an unusual opportunity to be an example of gospel living. In 1952, with the encouragement of President David O. McKay, he accepted an appointment as the Secretary of Agriculture under Dwight D. Eisenhower, president of the United States. This was the only time in the history of the Church that a member of the Quorum of the Twelve served in a United States president's cabinet.

Humility is willingness to submit to the will of the Lord and to give the Lord the honor for what is accomplished. It includes gratitude for His blessings and acknowledgment of your constant need for His divine help. Humility is not a sign of weakness! It is a sign of spiritual strength.
The opposite of humility is pride!

What does it mean to be humble?
To be teachable, knowing that Heavenly Father knows best, always remember the greatness of God, and praising God in all things. Those are some things that I think it means to be humble.

What blessings do you receive when you humble yourself?
Wisdom, mercy, enduring to the end, being saved, your weaknesses become strengths, God shall lead you, your ears and eyes shall be open to things. These are the blessings I have seen in my life. But believe me I still need some work to do. As does everyone :)

How can you recognize pride in yourself?
When we don't want to pray. So here is a quote that explains that "If we don't feel like praying, then we should pray until we feel like praying."-Ezra Taft Benson.
When we are feeling guilty because we haven't repented yet.
Causing contention!
Not liking to be corrected! Ok so no one likes being told they are wrong but we are human so yes sometimes we are WRONG just don't have a cow about it!
Last one that I can think of is stirring up trouble when there is NO need for it.

Random Church fact of the day

In 1979 a new English-language edition of the King James Bible was published, the text was unchanged, but footnotes were added that cross-referenced the Bible with the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price. A large Topical Guide and Bible Dictionary provided insights unique to modern-day scriptures. This new addition had new headings for all chapters.

In 1981 new editions of the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pear of Great Price were also published. These included the new system of footnotes, new chapter and section headings, maps, and an index.

Patience a Christ-like Attribute

Patience is the capacity to endure delay, trouble, opposition, or anxious. It is the ability to do God's will and accept His timing. When you are patient, you hold up under pressure and are able to face adversity calmly and hopefully.

"Life is full of difficulties, some minor and others of a more serious nature. There seems to be an unending supply of challenges for one and all. Our problem is that we often expect instantaneous solutions to such challenges, forgetting that frequently the heavenly virtue of patience is required." -Thomas S. Monson

Tribulations to Patience to Experience to Hope (Romans 5:3-5)

Why is patience important?

For me it is important because I need patience in my everyday experiences with all people, and myself as I work to overcome faults and weaknesses of my own.
