Happy Thanksgiving

Sorry I haven't been able to post much anymore I have been transferred to a new area where I don't have a computer accessible to me to post on my blog. But a little advice I found recently; Life isn't about finding yourself- life is about creating yourself. -George Bernard Shaw Never look down on anybody unless you're helping them up. - Jesse Jackson Thanksgiving is for giving thanks to the things we have that are important to us like our family, Christ, the Gospel, etc. So during this season lets give thanks for those things and the tender mercies that happen in our life everyday. Just as Christmas is about Christ so should Thanksgiving because without Christ we would have nothing. So lets create ourselves a beautiful season and help others up :)

A month of Thanksgiving

What are you thankful for this season?  1 Thessalonians 5:18  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. My God, I have never thanked You for my thorns. I have thanked You a thousand times for my roses, but never once for my thorns. Teach me the glory of the cross I bear; teach me the value of my thorns. Show me that I have climbed closer to You along the path of pain. Show me that, through my tears, the colors of Your rainbow look much more brilliant. Lets be thankful for all that happens to us. The sad and the happy times. We can learn and we grow from it all.

Christ's Parables part 2

Parable of the Sower Matthew 13:3-9 , 18-23 ; Mark 4:3-9 , 14-20 ; Luke 8:4-8 , 11-15 sow- to plant seeds wayside- hard ground that has been walked on (such as a path or road) devoured- ate withered away- died These are all interpretations that I have come up with from the scriptures or my own: The seed means- the word of God wayside means- those that hear but Satan comes and takes the belief away stony places means- those that hear but don't have a place to put forth their roots and then fall into temptation among thorns means- those that hear but are choked by the things of the world good ground means- those that hear and take it to heart and are living the word of God So choose your soil. Are you going to be the wayside or the road? Or the rocks? Or the thorns? Or will you choose to be the good ground and plant the word of God into your heart and let it grow? None of the soils in the parable had to stay in the condition it was in. We choose what soil we ar...

I have been called

When I opened up my mission call this is what I read: You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That means so much to me! "Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life." ( 3 Nephi 5:13 ) I have left my family for a short time, so others may be with their families for eternity. If you are struggling, feeling lost, not complete, or anything Christ can help! Let Him help you! If you have any questions feel free to ask me, other missionaries in your area or look on mormon.org . We want to help! We love you and we want you too know Christ loves you!  CALLED TO SERVE Called to serve Him, heavenly King of glory, Chosen e'er to witness for his name, Far and wide we tell the  Father's story, Far and wide his love proclaim. Called to know the richness of his blessing, Sons and  Daughters, Childre...

Christ's Parables Part 1

Ok I have decided I want to talk about or study Christ's Parables. This is going to be a post with many parts as you might say. So first I asked myself what does parable mean? ANSWER: The word parable comes from the Greek paraballo , which means "to set beside" or "to compare." A parable, therefore, is a simple story in which the narrator compares the common experiences of his listeners to some divine truth. Ok so why did the Savior use Parables?  So his disciples came and asked him this same question. " He  answered  and  said  unto  them,  Because  it  is  given  unto  you  to  know  the  mysteries  of  the  kingdom  of   heaven,  but  to  them  it  is  not  given." ( Matthew 13:10-11 ) The Master Teacher's parables show both the justice and mercy of God at work among those who hear them. "Two men may hear the same words," wrote Elder Ja...

The Challenge the "Book of Mormon" makes to the world

I have a strong testimony that the Book Of Mormon is true! I love it and I read it everyday. I constantly pray to have a reassurance that it is true. I know with all of my heart, might, mind and soul that it is TRUE! The reason I pray constantly to know that it is true is to have an unwavering testimony of it. I know Joseph Smith translated it for the world to read. I don't want to hide the principles and teachings it has of Jesus Christ in it from the world. I know it is ANOTHER Testament of Jesus Christ that HE LIVES! And that He loves ALL nations kindred, tongue and people. If our Heavenly Father wants to give us more scriptures to know that He and His son live how dare we say they can't! This wonderful book does NOT replace the Bible! It builds upon the truths that are in it! I love it and I invite you to read it and find out for yourself that it is true. I found this challenge and I want to share it. The Challenge The "Book of Mormon" makes to the world If ...

Baggage?

Can we let go of what people have said to us or what we do to our self's and let go and let Christ help us?  " Without God, repentance would have little meaning, and  forgiveness  would be both unnecessary and unreal. If there were no God, life would indeed be meaningless; … we might find justification in an urge to live only for today, to ‘eat, drink and be merry,’ to dissipate, to satisfy every worldly desire. If there were no God there would be no redemption, no resurrection, no eternities to anticipate, and consequently no hope.” -Spencer W. Kimball
